Forget about Eggs Benedict and welcome Turkish Eggs! Imagine poached eggs bathing in warm yogurt with garlic, topped with fresh garden herbs and drizzled with a chili pepper, butter and olive oil sauce. Moroccan Pastilla

This is a very special chicken pie. Now chicken pie is always delicious, period. However, the combination of flavors and textures in this Moroccan Pastilla is something else entirely. Just imagine a crispy buttery encasing, lightly dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon. You gently make the first cut and hear the pastry crack, then finding scented almonds in the top layer, juicy chicken underneath and a delicious egg sauce containing hints of cinnamon, ginger, turmeric and saffron at the bottom.

Cochinita Pibil (Mexican Slow Cooked Pork)

We first had a taste of Cochinita Pibil in Restaurant Queru and we were sold in an instant! This slow cooked Mexican pork from Yucatan is super juicy and tender. Ideal for tacos! They soak up the juices wonderfully and everything turns into taste heaven.

Home Made Gnocchi (the lightest and softest you’ve ever had)

These are the softest, pillow-iest gnocchi you will ever have. They are so light it feels like baby angels are resting on your tongue (no kidding). Often when I tell people that I’ve made gnocchi, I get a disappointing reaction: “I don’t really like gnocchi”or “nah it’s too heavy”. People, you have not had the…

I often read…

Last night we visited Arnhem for the night of fashion (nacht van de mode), which was great. Arnhem has a buzzing fashion scene and during night of fashion shops…

Mediterranean Fig, Spinach & Mozzarella Salad

This salad looks pretty damn amazing and it is as delicious as it looks. As a bonus it is healthy AND it’s ready in a jiffy. I have made this both for dinner and lunch, and although I have not really kept track of how long it took me, I think it is pretty fair…

Moroccan Lemon Chicken with Apricots & olives

The first time I tasted Moroccan lemon chicken was at a friend’s house. She hosted a dinner party for ladies only and her Moroccan husband prepared a whole chicken for us. It was absolutely fantastic (and lucky us that we did not need to do anything in the kitchen!). For this recipe I don’t use…
